Dead Silence
This morning, I woke up feeling sad and alone. It’s that kind of heavy sadness that presses on your chest and has the capacity to literally take your breath away. It was only 4am. I prayed out loud into the dark, asking God to comfort me— I told Him, “I won’t try to visualize how it will look. I’ll wait for You to show me.”
Immediately, my phone beeped with a notification for the daily Bible reading app. I read Romans 15 right then and there, and it reminded me that He is the God of hope, and that He wants to fill me with joy and peace as I believe. That hit. I’ve been doubting—doubting my ability to hear Him, especially since the healing I hoped for didn’t come. The promises I had stood on now feel like shaky ground.
Have you been here? Have you felt the weight of silence and the loudness of fear. If so, I want to encourage you: listen closely. There is a whisper beneath the silence, a presence that fear cannot claim. You are not alone.
Dead Silence is a reminder that even when healing feels delayed or distant, God’s quiet presence is still there, restoring and comforting in ways only He can.
