Welcome to Goane Places—not your typical travel blog. This is a journey through the everyday—quiet streets, familiar corners, and the in-between spaces of life—where I seek to find Jesus along the way. I share reflections, stories, and moments that may seem ordinary at first glance, but carry the weight of deeper purpose. Here, the path is less about miles and more about meaning—where even the smallest steps can lead to sacred places.
I believe we learn by asking questions together and in the asking, we discover what we, individually, need to learn.
For me, writing is a way of discovery. I feel led to share my thoughts to encourage others to maybe see life and faith through a different lens.
This site is created to provide a safe environment for a community of discovery. Questions live here and some answers, but mainly it’s a place to be a part of life’s beautiful quest for knowledge and connection.

“Wise are those who keep asking questions when everyone around them think they know the answers.” - J. Bartell
The quest itself is sometimes the answer.
Into the Water
He obeyed a single command from God—baptizing with water—without fully knowing how it would all unfold. That kind of obedience challenges me to consider where I’ve heard God speak… and whether I’m walking in faith before I fully understand.
Dead Silence
In the stillness of disappointment, I found a whisper.
After wrestling with unanswered prayers and the ache of doubt, I wrote Dead Silence — a poem that traces the journey from lost belief to quiet restoration. This post reflects on that moment when fear grows loud… and God’s whisper gently overcomes it.
The Waiting Field
In the middle of rushing to be somewhere important, I stumbled upon a field of dandelions—thousands of them, swaying in the wind. I didn’t have time to stop, but the moment stayed with me. This is a reflection on the beauty of waiting, the things we almost miss, and the quiet hope in what comes next.
Going, Asking, Finding
This post is about navigating grief, depression, and the quiet process of healing. It’s a reflection on how beauty shows up in small, often overlooked details—and how noticing those moments can begin to restore us. There’s meaning in the middle, if we’re willing to slow down and listen.
